'Frequently Asked Questions'
Answers to common questions about our products.

Why do your controllers only have five launch positions?
This is because there are only 8 wires in an ethernet cable. Five positions, +Power, +Arm, +Continuity = eight. We chose Cat 6 ethernet cables for our wired controllers because they provide eight high quality stranded cable connections at up to 300ft at a very reasonable cost. They are easy to replace and perfectly interchangable.
Why does the circuit breaker trip so often?
The circuit breaker prevents possible damage to the power pack in case of short circuit. The Breaker is a 10 AMP thermal breaker. As a thermal breaker, it will pass 20+ amps of current for a fraction of a second in order to light a high-current igniter, or several ignitors simultanously before tripping. Under normal operation, it should almost never trip.

'There are three common conditions that might cause the breaker to trip.'

  1. Launch leads fell from the rocket at launch while the launch button continued to be held down by the operator. They touch together, creating a short circuit, tripping the breaker.

7nbsp; 2. The operator did not switch off the last pad after the rocket launched. The leads are dangling there shorted together, as in #1. When the launch button is pressed, the breaker trips due to a short circuit.

  3. The rocketeer installed an ignitor with the leads unknowingly touching together up inside the motor. This short circuit trips the breaker.
